I was introduced to Cool Necessities during my training for the Kokoda trail.
I was party with a group of 5, one being my brother – photographic editor of the Gold Coast Bulletin and two men from the Gold Coast Life Saving Club.
| Our training at that stage incorporated several 6-7 hour walks along the trails of the Gold Coast Hinterland; this is where the Cool Necessities product came into their own. We were able to compare our training prior to Cool Necessities and this identified the real benefits. They reduced the amount of perspiration and kept the nape of our necks cool; we believe keeping our body temperatures low. The real test came when we did the Kokoda trek; high temperatures, high humidity. Each time we passed water we were able to regenerate our bandanas and this lasted us a considerable amount of time. |

Others on the trek all wanted to try them and once they did they wanted to know why we didn’t bring more. I passed mine onto my native guide at the end of the trek, who also found the benefits and was so excited as he does the grueling trek once a month.
I would highly recommend these to anyone doing any extreme sports or any outside activities in the hot sun.

I regularly compete in Ironman and Half Ironman triathlons.
I was introduced to the Cool Necessities bandana and was amazed at how cold it was and how long it retains its coolness. Since then I have regularly used the bandana during my training runs.
When running I place the bandana around my neck. This is where I find it has the greatest effect in cooling me down, making my training more enjoyable and comfortable. I think the bandana is amazing not only for the its cooling properties but because of its relative weightlessness. It is able to be stored in my pocket when not required which is fantastic when running.
I am looking forward to my next event as I feel the bandana gives me a definite advantage in the run leg.
I would definitely recommend the bandana to anyone performing any form of exercise, particularly in warmer climates.
